Ejaculation |
Men have been suffering from premature ejaculation (PE) since ages,
but till date, there has been no approved prescription drug for
premature ejaculation treatment. Several herbal drug manufacturers
have claimed that their concoctions treat premature ejaculation, but
these have been just claims.
The lack of a prescription treatment has led thousands of men
suffering from PE to also face other issues like low self-confidence
and depression. But now there is hope on the horizon for such men.
The new drug Priligy from Johnson & Johnson is under review with the
FDA as a prescription treatment for PE.
Priligy contains dapoxetine hydrochloride, which was created for
treating depression but showed better effects on men suffering from
PE. So the manufacturer decided to put it forward as a medication
for this condition.
If it is approved, it will become the first prescription treatment
for PE, but it will be much more than that. Any medication that
treats this sexual health condition in men would also help prevent a
lot of other issues faced by them. Men who are not 100% in sex
generally feel inadequate and this tends to rub off on the other
aspects of their life.
A drug for premature ejaculation will allow men to treat this
inadequacy and subsequently regain their confidence. While there are
some other treatments for PE including topical ointments like
lidocaine and SS Cream, the need for a drug has always been felt.
Once Priligy is approved, it is expected to quickly gain immense
popularity as it would be a breakthrough product for men’s sexual
health.
